We are recruiting Dentists to work in California's adult correctional facilities on a per diem basis.  If you are interested in working for the state of California on a part-time basis, please follow the instructions below to take our online assessment, and indicate "Permanent Intermittent Employee" (PIE) on your Tenure/Time Base.  You will be placed in a pool of Dentists interested in Per Diem opportunities, and then contacted as opportunities become available.

*Starting Rate: 
$87.59/hr.

*Through June 30, 2013, full-time employees’ monthly pay will be reduced by 4.62% in exchange for eight (8) hours of leave. Part-time employees shall be subject to the pay reduction on a pro-rated basis consistent with their time base.


Job Duties:
Under supervision, in a State correctional facility in the Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, to perform general dentistry or perform assigned phases of dental treatment such as extractions or restorations; and is responsible to maintain order and supervise the conduct of inmates or youthful offenders; and to protect and maintain the safety of persons and property. A Dentist, C.F. may perform all the dental services in a small institution, or serve as a dentist with a small dental staff, and be in charge of the dental services of the facility; and to do other duties as required.
